The 55 Zone was first discovered in 1996 by Barrick Gold and is located one km along strike west-southwest of the Southwest Zone. Drilling on the 55 Zone indicate the possibility of several gold bearing zones within a mineralized system currently extending for 400 meters along strike with some intersections to 300 metres depth, all hosted within a window of variably altered Timiskaming sediments. These sediments strike approximately 070° tracking ultramafics of the Destor immediately to the north with the contact typically marked by narrow locally discontinuous hematite banded iron formation. The southern limit appears to be defined by a wide relatively unaltered and intercalated purplish hematitic iron formation or ironstone/chloritic greywacke-sandstone sequence. Scattered narrow syenite dykes and several fault zones have also been intersected within this window.

A total of 27 holes (9,523 metres) have been drilled in the 55 Zone with significant gold mineralized intervals encountered. Mineralization shows considerable variation with respect to grade, width and orientation of veins. Gold zones may be en-echelon and contain a combination of quartz and quartz/feldspar stringers and veins with variable orientations ranging from sub-parallel to high angle relative to the core axis. The altered wallrock is predominantly and pervasively sericitized and carbonatized (ankerite) with local potassic and hematitic alteration. Pyrite is often 3 to 5% finely disseminated and in coarser grained subhedral aggregates. Visible gold and rare accessory molybdenite and chalcopyrite have been observed.

The following highlights are all in g/t Au over drilled widths:

The 2002 summer program completed drill hole MA-02-06 intersecting 7.54 g/t Au over 6.50 metres and MA-02-07. Subsequent drill holes MA-03-10 and 11 in 2003 also returned encouraging results, prompting the drilling of infill holes MA-04-24 to 26 and the deepening of MA-03-10X in 2004. Of these, MA-04-25 returned the best intersection of 12.76 g/t over 4.30 metres drilled up-dip of MA-02-06. Both MA-04-24 and 26 were drilled between prior Barrick drill holes.

Further drilling took place in early 2005 with the completion of six infill holes MA-05-27 to 32. Results include 11.23 g/t Au over 1.70 metres (MA-05-27), 5.81 g/t Au over 7.40 metres (MA-05-30), 10.90 g/t Au over 2.00 metres (MA-05-31), and 9.04 g/t Au over 5.90 metres in hole MA-05-32.

The most recent winter 2008 drill program completed holes MA-08-43 to 50 and several significant intersections were drilled with some exceptional results from MA-08-49 including 9.68 g/t Au over 27.75 metres drilled width with a peak value of 49.03 g/t Au over 1.00 metre. This well mineralized intersection contains a significant down-dip drilled vein component. A similar orientated vein carrying visible gold in the same geological setting was intersected in MA08-43 returning 42.09 g/t Au over 2.90 metres drilled width, with a peak vein value of 187.99 g/t Au over 0.50 metres. MA-08-50, drilled as a 50m eastern step-out hole to test for mineralization on strike, intersected 3.25 g/t Au over 5.40 metres including 6.01 g/t Au over 1.35 metres confirming continuing potential for gold mineralization easterly within the Timiskaming sediments.

These results confirm the high grade and well mineralized gold tenor of these narrow vein zones and due to their orientation, the true width of the zones such as those in MA08-43 and 49 will have to be determined by an additional drill program expected in Q1 2010.
