The Southwest Zone is hosted in Timiskaming sediments where a large north westerly structure intersects the southern portion of the Destor Porcupine Fault/Deformation Zone.
The Southwest Zone is divided into three main blocks offset by the north-westerly trending faulting; the near surface West Block ("WB"), the East Block ("EB") and the Central Block ("CB") all extending to depth. The bulk of the mineralization is of the stockwork type and includes iron formation sulphidization.
At depth additional high grade mineralization occurs in the 162, 267 and 273 vein zones located up to 200m southerly off the iron formation contact. These zones are distinguished primarily by the larger scale veining up to 50 metre widths and consistent overall mineralization style. Previously reported highlights include 3.93g/t over 36.37m, 2.83g/t over 49.50m, 5.61g/t Au over 23.89m and 7.42g/t over 16.58m.
The mineralization in the Southwest Zone has been confirmed over 1,200 metres along strike, more than 200 metres in width into the hanging wall, and to a depth of 1,200 metres, with significant untested potential at depth.
